Forage Spokesperson Competition

AFGC's Forage Spokesperson Competition is sponsored through the generous support of Forage Genetics International.

The Forage Spokesperson Competition is held annually during the AFGC Conference. The focus of the competition is to highlight and represent the diversity of forage operations used by forage producers in North America.  Producers, each representing a particular AFGC affiliate council, compete and are voted as the best "spokesperson" for forages. The competition includes the following elements:

• Each presentater will give a presentation on "How They Use Forages in Their Operations"
• Each presentater is allowed 15 minutes and the presentation is timed (if a presenter goes over 15 minutes points will be deducted)
• Judges will rank/score the presentations

The competition features cash prizes and winners will be announced during the conference.

If you know someone who may be interested in participating in the 2011 Forage Spokesperson Competition, nominate them by sending the following information to the AFGC Headquarters, PO Box 867, Berea, KY 40403:

• Spokesperson's name, address and telephone number.
• Nominator's name, address and telephone number.
• Spokesperson's qualifications, including speaking ability, innovation as a producer, participation and leadership in local, state and/or national forage council activities, soundness of farming operation, etc.
• Brief description of the nominee's farming operation.

The forage spokesperson contestant must be willing to make a presentation at the 2010 AFGC Annual Conference in Springfield, Missouri, June 21-23.  The deadline to receive nominations for the 2011 Forage Spokesperson Competition is May 1, 2011.
