Join Stark Soil and Water Conservation for their Grazing Management Workshop Series. The workshop series will be conducted by Bob Hendershot, a retired State Grassland Conservationist from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resource Conservation Service and recipient of the 2017 Distinguished Grasslander Award. 

Participants will learn how design a productive grazing system by managing soil fertility and forage species selection. All attendees will receive a grazing workbook, pasture stick, and forage field guide. One soil test will be provided for each participant that brings a pasture sample to the first workshop.

Session 1: Tuesday, August 1st @ 6:00pm – 8:30pm 

Soil Health and Soil Fertility, Manure Management 

Session 2: Tuesday, August 8th @ 6:oopm – 8:30pm 

Pasture Forage Selection, Understanding How Plants Grow 

Session 3: Tuesday, August 15th @ 6:00pm – 8:30pm 

Design a Grazing System, Managing Mud 

Sessions 1 – 3 will be held at the USDA Service Center, 2650 Richville Dr. SE Ste 100, Massillon, Ohio 44646. A certificate will be awarded to participants who attend all 3 sessions.
