Small Ruminant Field Day
The Southern University Ag Center will hold a Small Ruminant Field Day on Saturday, April 18 at the Maurice A. Edmunds Livestock Arena (14600 Hwy 61, Baker, LA). This educational event is open to everyone who is currently involved with goat and sheep production or those interested in learning more about raising small ruminants.
Topics include: Herd Health, Marketing, Forage Management, Composting and much more; demonstrations and hands-on sessions include Wet Lab (fecal egg count), Goat Meat Product Development and Tasting, and Practical Animal Husbandry Techniques.
There is no charge for this field day. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the program will end at 2:00 p.m.
